Final project: said once, say it again

I recreated a 20 second scene from my video project of the sword in the stone. This one is a mini version, bringing Disneyland to us in way.

This is in the early stages on creating the land

This is the final version of the land - each person was able to attempt to remove the sword from the stone like the real one and the last person ultimately succeeded and then was awarded a certificate

Everyone was also given a ticker before to emulate the experience of real Disneyland.

Prop + generosity 🎁

I made stamps for everyone!

I first made a digital version of what I wanted the stamps to look like. There was no real meaning behind each stamp, I just tried to remember what people have mentioned that they are interested in or just things that reminded me of them.

Then these were transferred onto rubber to be carved
this is a time lapse (if it works ?) of the stamp carving, I thought it would be fun to see the progress throughout.

then the wood was cut to size and the design was stamped on the back with regular printing ink. (not that I did this on purpose but its redwood which is native to my hometown)

the actual designs were glued onto the wood as the final product.

I asked everyone to stamp their own on each others paper so they would all be different

this has probably been my favorite project so far, I tend to give things to people as a love language (specifically handmade things) so was nice to do that on a larger scale :)

Meeting in the middle

We decided to have a treasure hunt for this project because out middle point was right next to this campus map.

Red vinyl was used to make the “X” to mark where the treasure was.

We made a treasure box out of cardboard to plant in the said area of the X.

The treasure box was hidden here

We implemented a system of take a treasure, leave a treasure to make it fair.

Ritual + space

I crocheted small water bottles based on how much water I drank. Each row represents 5oz of water and each color is a different day. Location: Reynolds because it has the best water (subjectively).

(Some of them are an estimation since I’m not sure how many ounces cups/ things other than a certain sized water bottle are)

Day 1: 22 rows

Day 2: 19 rows

Day 3: 22 rows

Day 4: 20 rows
Day 5: 22 rows

Personal History project

I decided to make a book featuring all the cats my family has had at least from the year before I was born until present day.

The book was made from cardboard and different papers that I thought looked nice together.

dedicated pages are for each cat and some of the things that reminded me of them/ events that occurred/ nicknames. I did most of the drawings of them from memory or from what I was told from my parents if the cat was alive before I was born.

Vinyl window project

I liked this project, it was interesting to measure and install the vinyl but overall it gives decent result. I did have some trouble with getting air bubbles and folds out from the vinyl but it is not too noticeable from far away. Also attempting to reach the very top window/ high area only slightly made me fear for my life but no casualties happened.
Seeing it altogether with the already there fish is nice as well.
